Resources for PAs

Diverse Cymru’s services are provided for people in receipt of direct payments only. Whilst we recognise that PAs employed by our service users may require support at times we are not contracted to provide this support and, unfortunately, do not have the capacity to do so.

We have compiled some useful links and downloads for people working, or intending to work, as a Personal Assistant.

The Personal Assistant's Online Guidebook: This online resource aims to provide anyone who is either already working as a Personal Assistant in social care or thinking of joining the profession with an up-to-date and accessible way to learn more about the role of the PA, gain awareness of the key issues PAs face and access sources of further information, learning and support.

The Care Council for Walesis the social care workforce regulator in Wales responsible for promoting and securing high standards across the social services and social care workforce. They have many useful links and documents which you can download, most recently their Code of Professional Practice , which is applicable to PAs and all other professionals who work in the social care sector.

UNISON is a trade union that personal assistants can join. They have also set up an online network for PAs to be able to share support and advice with one another.

ACAS The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service provides free, impartial and confidential information and advice all aspects of workplace relations and employment law.
